What is a caregiver?
Do you know someone who cares for someone else? They're a caregiver. Give them some extra attention, a compliment, or a pat on the back. That's always welcome, of course, but especially on November 10th, Caregiver's Day! It doesn't have to be complicated. A sweet good-luck card with a cute wooden lucky charm is already a token of appreciation for their work as a caregiver. That lucky charm will stay with you and remind you every time you received it.
Which lucky charms are suitable to give to a caregiver?
Lucky dolls with hearts on their bellies, or wooden hearts, are certainly very cute and sweet. But a superhero lucky doll or superhero pen are also a wonderful gift. They show your appreciation for someone who provides informal care, and that appreciation is incredibly important!
When is Caregiver Day?
Carers' Day is every year on November 10th.
On Caregiver Day, we give a pat on the back to the five million caregivers in the Netherlands every year. Caregivers care for a sick family member, friend, or neighbor. Caregivers often take care of themselves for granted, but it isn't. It's special and deserves appreciation. On Caregiver Day, everyone in the Netherlands makes that known.
There are so many informal caregivers in our country, and that's wonderful. But sometimes we should also pause to consider how wonderful it is that informal caregivers are there, that they are appreciated, and how nice it is to receive a special thank you for Carer's Day.
If desired, we can also send these lucky charm thank-you gifts directly to caregivers, so your company or institution doesn't have to worry about any extra work. This loving lucky charm gift is then made at the daycare center for people with disabilities so these dear people can also do useful and important work for our society, just like the caregiver!
